As the central engine of Authentica's product suite, Authentica Policy Server 3.0 protects against the unauthorized use and distribution of sensitive information in e-mail, documents and Web content. Version 3.0 delivers a host of new capabilities including support for Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) and Microsoft SQL Server. These enhancements make Authentica Policy Server the only digital rights management (DRM) server software that leverages existing enterprise directory and application infrastructures to simplify administration and speed deployment across an organization.

This week at the RSA Conference, Booth #1441, Authentica will be demonstrating Version 3.0 of the Authentica Policy Server as well as the latest editions of its DRM software solutions including MailRecall(TM) and MailRecall Gateway, PageRecall(TM) and NetRecall(TM). Additionally, Authentica will be previewing its forthcoming Authentica Content Server, a simple yet powerful Web-based application that allows corporate knowledge professionals to securely distribute and manage valuable or confidential content, choosing between full digital rights management protection or simpler secure delivery on a case-by-case basis.

IDC reports that the worldwide market for DRM software is expected to reach more than $3.5 billion in revenue by 2005. Powered by Authentica's patented Active Rights Management(TM) (ARM) architecture, Authentica Policy Server 3.0 lets organizations dynamically create and manage information policies that protect valuable e-mail, documents and Web content during and after delivery. An information policy controls settings such as the content expiration date, recipient printing privileges, and forwarding rights. Policies can be changed at any time, even after content has been delivered and accessed by recipients.

New capabilities include:

-- LDAP Support - Allows enterprises to leverage their existing corporate user
directories (including Microsoft Active Directory and iPlanet Directory) to
streamline the set up and management of content security policies. With LDAP
support, organizations can make changes to user data and have it dynamically
reflected in content security policies without administrator involvement. This
ensures consistency and accuracy of user data and profiles in complex,
distributed enterprises.

-- Microsoft SQL Server Support - Improves the performance, scalability and
time to deployment for content security applications in large enterprises,
allowing them to leverage their existing database investments; builds on
Authentica Policy Server's existing support for Oracle Database.

-- Content Retention Policy Management - Enables organizations to automate and
centrally enforce content retention policies for protected e-mail messages and
documents. It also ensures encryption keys are retained for the period of time
specified in an organization's content retention policy.

-- Dynamic and Personalized Watermarks - Allows documents to be viewed with a
watermark that includes user name, date and time the document was printed, and
the IP address of the client computer. It also enables a printed document to be
traced to an authenticated user.

-- Metered Secure Printing - Enables organizations to restrict the number of
copies a recipient can print through Authentica's integration with Electronics
For Imaging's (EFI) Advanced Secure Print System (ASPS).

-- API For Extended Policy Management - Allows information policies to be
controlled by external customer applications, lowering the costs of deploying
ARM enterprise-wide by leveraging existing applications.

-- Integrated Web Reporting Tools - Provides a method for administrators to
observe trends across an enterprise (for example, most active users in an
organization or most frequently accessed documents), and to take action if
needed.

Pricing and Availability

Authentica Policy Server 3.0 will be available in March 2002. Pricing is based on concurrent users and server configuration, and starts at $32,500 (USD).
