Attendees to the event, including leading technology press and analysts, can experience the USPS Electronic Postmark now available on Microsoft Word XP and Microsoft Office Word 2003 through EPM Extension software co-developed by AuthentiDate and Microsoft.

The USPS EPM Extension is easy-to-use, downloadable software which allows users to digitally sign Microsoft Office Word 2003 documents and seal them with the trusted USPS EPM. With a single click on the USPS EPM icon on the Microsoft Word toolbar, a user can apply a USPS EPM to any binding document, such as a contract, letter or agreement. By applying a USPS EPM, the content of the document is locked, protecting it from tampering, altering and potential fraud. When a user opens a postmarked document, the authenticity of the USPS EPM is automatically verified, and a valid USPS EPM is displayed within the document if the content has not been altered. The transaction details are maintained in the USPS EPM repository for seven years, providing third-party evidence to support non-repudiation of content.
