AuthentiDate Announces Agreement with German IS KV for Implementation of Standardized Scan Signature Solution.

SCHENECTADY, N.Y., DUESSELDORF, Germany & ESSEN, Germany--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 2, 2003--AuthentiDate International, AG, a subsidiary of AuthentiDate Holding Corp. (AHC) (NASADAQ:ADAT) announced today that it has signed an agreement with IS KV GmbH, a subsidiary of a leading German health insurance organization. The agreement provides for the implementation of AuthentiDate's Scan Signature Solution(TM) at German statutory health insurance companies through Scan Solution vendors Kofax/Dicom, OCE, OCR and UNIcomputer.

While financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed, AuthentiDate stated that revenue would be generated through recurring license fees from each installation.

By August 2004, under German laws, statutory health insurance companies must use qualified digital signatures when converting paper documents to electronic documents through scan processes. All digital signatures used by this process must comply with stringent German Signature laws. Large paper volumes require automated signature generation technology, which is already included in AuthentiDate's Scan Signature Technology.

German law also requires the storage of all paper originals for the entire retention period if the electronically scanned documents do not include qualified digital signatures. By using AuthentiDate's Scan Signature Solution, health insurance organizations can realize significant costs savings and benefit from generating legally approved data.

The agreement provides for installation of Authentidate's Scan Signature Solution at all of IS KV's customers. IS KV provides the common IT platform for more than 350 German statutory health insurance companies, representing over 25% of the German statutory health insurance market, or over 19 million health insurance contracts.
