Authenex Announces Management Server Upgrade for HDLock Solution; New Feature Provides Enterprise Administration Features for Authenex Hard Disk Encryption Application.

HAYWARD, Calif. -- Authenex, a leading provider of strong authenticated e-security solutions, today announced the release of the HDLock(TM) Management Server for its HDLock hard disk encryption solution. The HDLock Management Server provides greater support to companies that deploy HDLock by allowing enterprise IT departments to manage A-Key(R) token registration and recovery options in the event that an end user loses an A-Key.

Authenex HDLock employs the Authenex A-Key token, with an on-board CPU performing 128-bit AES encryption to protect data on the hard drive of both notebook and desktop computers from unauthorized access. Once the data is encrypted, strong two-factor authentication via the A-Key and user-password is needed to access the encrypted data. The management server update puts a simple web recovery process and reporting capabilities in place to assist users should the hard disk remain inaccessible due to a lost A-Key.

Should an end user's A-Key be lost, an IT administrator or end user can access the internal server from any browser to generate a soft key to access the encrypted hard disk data. This is ideal for users that are traveling and misplace their A-Key, a concern for many enterprises. Account information necessary for recovery is secure and resides on the company network and not with the vendor's database or another external environment.

In addition to HDLock, enterprises can deploy the entire Authenex suite of e-security applications and use the same A-Key token employed by the HDLock solution. This simplifies enterprise security by providing end-users with a single token for all Authenex applications.
