Australian institute hosts IRC 2000.


The major International Rubber Conference, IRC (Internet Relay Chat) Computer conferencing on the Internet. There are hundreds of IRC channels on numerous subjects that are hosted on IRC servers around the world. After joining a channel, your messages are broadcast to everyone listening to that channel.  2000, will be held this year in the southern hemisphere for the second time in the last 12 years. This conference, organized by the Australian Plastics and Rubber Organization, will be held in Melbourne, Australia from October 30 to November 2.

Melbourne is the center of the rubber industry in Australia. The conference will be held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Center on the Yarra River The Yarra River is a river in southern Victoria, Australia. This year's conference theme will be "Molding the 21st Century." The technical program will comprise 64 papers, with a majority of overseas content. Altogether, there will be contributions from 18 countries, with an emphasis on material, compounding and processing developments.

Topics covered will include compounding and material development (elastomers, polymers and TPEs); processing of elastomers; applications for elastomers in Australian and overseas markets; product design, testing and performance; and business developments.
