Australian Craig Alexander to Defend Title at 2006 Life Time Fitness Triathlon; Sydney Native to Battle More Than 40 Pros for Top Prize; Unique Timing Format Allows Field of Men and Women to Compete for $500,000 Cash and Prize Purse.

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- Life Time Fitness, Inc. (NYSE:LTM), a national operator of large and distinctive health and fitness centers today announced that professional triathlete Craig Alexander (AUS) will return to defend his title this July in the 2006 Life Time Fitness Triathlon, one of America's most prominent Olympic-distance endurance competitions.

At 5'9" and weighing 150 lbs., Alexander is a world-class professional triathlete with nearly a decade of racing experience. The 33 year-old Alexander has compiled 34 top three finishes since 2001, including 19 victories. He already has a pair of victories in 2006, taking home the title in Australian Long Course Championship as well as winning the St. Croix Half-Ironman.

Joining Alexander will be more than 40 of the world's most accomplished professional triathletes, including:

The Life Time Fitness Triathlon will again employ a unique timing format that provides a predetermined head start to the professional women, with the goal of creating an exciting race to the finish by the female and male pros. At the 2005 Life Time Fitness Triathlon, the women's head start was set at 9 minutes and 32 seconds, resulting in Alexander (1:59:32) winning by only 53 seconds over Snowsill (2:00:25).
