In this edition of ABR, former Foreign Minister Gareth Evans writes on where we are in the 'War on Terror'; Liz Conor looks at film lecturer Barbara Creed's new book Media Matrix, which passes contemporary media forms and content through a prism of feminist and sexual theory, emerging on the other side with a book that Conor labels 'an important innovation'; Dennis Altman reviews Chalmers Johnson's The Sorrows of Empire, a book that scrutinises the self-perpetuating imperialist impulse in US policy; and John Lack tackles an edited collection of articles on multiculturalism and immigrants, characterising its content as mostly 'rightist intellectual fudge'. There's new poetry, as always, and a whole lot of other book reviews, as the title suggests.
