Australia win toss and bat against England


Australia captain Ricky Ponting Ricky Thomas Ponting (born December 19 1974, in Launceston, Tasmania) is an Australian cricketer and current captain of the Australia national cricket team (for both One-Day International and Test cricket).  won the toss and elected to bat against England in the day/night sixth one-day international

One-Day International (ODI) is a form of cricket, which is played over 50 overs per side between two national cricket teams.

Meanwhile off-spinner Graeme Swann was recalled by England in place of leg-spinner Adil Rashid

England all-rounder Paul Collingwood sat out this fixture as he completed a three-game break but could return on Sunday at his home ground.

World champions Australia made two changes from the team that won here by four wickets on Tuesday.

Brett Lee, who took five wickets in Saturday's win at Lord's, came in for rested fellow quick Mitchell Johnson.

And all-rounder James Hopes was given a chance to impress with vice-captain and top-order batsman Michael Clarke left out.

This was the first time this series that Australia had won the toss.
