Australia still targeting Lord's win.


AUSTRALIA will have to break new ground if they are to take a 1-0 lead in this Ashes series This is a list of Ashes cricket series played between Australia and England. Most Ashes series have consisted of five Test matches between the two countries. The Ashes series with the fewest Test matches was the 1887-88 Ashes series, consisting of only one Test. .

They will resume today at Lord's needing a further 209 for victory.

It was looking ever unlikely at one stage after slipping to 128-5 chasing a total of 522 set by England for victory.

"At the moment we're feeling pretty good about the position we're in knowing that tomorrow if we play as well as we know we can, we've got a real chance of winning the Test match," insisted coach Tim Nielsen Timothy John Nielsen (born May 5 1968 in London, England) is a former South Australian state cricketer and is currently the head coach of the Australian cricket team.

Neilsen played 101 first-class matches for his state between 1990-91 and 1998-99.

Simon Katich Simon Mathew Katich (born August 21, 1975 in Middle Swan, Western Australia) is an Australian cricketer. He is currently the captain of the Derbyshire County Cricket Club, but leaves the county at the end of the 2007 season.  was dismissed off a no-ball, TV replays cast doubt on the validity of Andrew Strauss' low catch to dismiss Phillip Hughes and Michael Hussey appeared to miss the ball completely as it went to slip off Graeme Swann.

"We can't do anything about that," he said. "We knew at times things would go our way and things wouldn't whether it would be umpiring decisions or weather or how we were playing.

"I would have liked to have seen Strauss' catch go to the third umpire from a consistency point of view.

"In the end we've all seen the replays and we can all make our decisions and at the moment the scorebook says Phillip Hughes is sitting up with me."
