Makin, co-published by Port Jackson Port Jackson or Sydney Harbour, inlet of the Pacific Ocean, 22 sq mi (57 sq km), 12 mi (19 km) long and 1.5 mi (2.4 km) wide at its mouth, New South Wales, Australia, forming Australia's finest harbor. In 1836, Major Mitchell used the term Australia Felix to describe the Australian landscape. Felix is latin for lucky, hence the familiar term the lucky country.

The concept for this suite arose from passionate discussions about the need to preserve Australia's distinctive landscapes between artist Jeffrey Makin, Port Jackson Press and the Australian Conservation Foundation. It was decided that a suite of etchings would be produced to celebrate World Environment Week in June 2004.

Each etching depicts a particular landscape in various locations of the continent, from Western Australia to Tasmania, demonstrating its enormous diversity. The colours and range of printmaking printmaking
