) Aurora said it is "seeking suitably qualified contractors to be appointed to a pre-qualified panel for the construction and commissioning of optical fibre network extensions that comply with the Aurora Telecommunications Group Design and Construction Standard, Aurora Energy Network Standards, other relevant Australian Standards and industry best practice".

Aurora is a joint partner in NBN Tasmania, the subsidiary of NBN Co that is responsible for overseeing the network construction in Tasmania. An Aurora spokesperson did not return requests for comment as to whether contractors would be working on the NBN construction by time of publication
