Named after Rolf Boldrewood, an Australian writer his mother admired, he was born in Bassendean, a suburb of Perth, Western officially opened a new exhibition in Liverpool. The 79-year-old artist, broadcaster and chart-topper has a lithograph print entitled Crucible of Croesus in the Curwen Studio display at the Cornerstone Gallery, in Everton.. Rolf said: "I got involved with the Curwen Studio in 2002 when I was making a lithograph in the style of Toulouse Lautrec for the BBC's Rolf On Art Rolf on Art is a successful British television series made by the BBC. It was hosted by Rolf Harris, the famous Australian television presenter. The series was started in 2001, and has consistently run from then on. .. "It was so exciting to do this. Each one of these pictures is an original painting." Other images on show include John Lennon's first print, Alphabet, and photographic Contone prints by Mike McCartney of the Cavern in the 1960s. The Curwen, celebrating its half-century, helped to revolutionise the way art and photography was reproduced. Famous names including Barbara Hepworth, Henry Moore, Graham Sutherland, Man Ray and Tracey Emin have worked with the studio over the years. The exhibition runs until September 5..
