Austin-Area Exxon Tigermarkets to Pump Krispy Kreme Doughnuts.

If Austinites can't make it to one of the three Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Inc. locations in Austin and Round Rock, they need only to steer into one of 21 Exxon Tigermarkets in the area to fill up on the delectable doughnuts.

In a marriage of gasoline and glaze, Exxon Tigermarkets announced that, as of June 17, most of their Austin-area convenience stores will carry the popular confection.

"Our customers are going to be very excited to find Krispy Kreme doughnuts in our stores," said John Quinn, Merchandising Specialist for the Austin-area Tigermarkets. "Being the exclusive convenience store retailer for Krispy Kreme Doughnuts gives our customers another reason to start their day at their local Exxon Tigermarket."

"This agreement with Tigermarkets is our first retail out-of-store sales expansion in Austin," noted Randy Willard, President of Glazing Saddles Ltd., the Austin-area Krispy Kreme franchise. "With Tigermarkets located at most all of the major traffic intersections here, it will make it easier for our loyal customers -- some who drive weekly from San Antonio to our South Austin Stassney store -- to get their Krispy Kreme fix."

In a special Krispy Kreme kickoff promotion, area Tigermarkets will offer their customers a Krispy Kreme doughnut, an Austin American-Statesman and a large cup of gourmet Green Mountain coffee for $1.99. This promotion will run from June 17 through July 31. In addition, Tigermarket store managers will take pre-orders from their customers for next-day doughnut pick-up at Tigermarket stores.
