Aussie Sheepshearer Now Stylist to the Stars.

LOS ANGELES -- Shearing sheep in the Outback of Australia may be a long way from Hollywood, but it has been a relatively short rise to fame for one Aussie renaissance man, Jamie Carroll, who now trains other hairstylists around the world, photographs international beauty shows and is responsible for some of the most glamorous hairstyles in the business.

Identified throughout the global hairdressing industry as one of the experts in his field, Jamie has recently partnered with ERGO Styling tools and Yamaguchi Spa Mystique salon at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza on Century City's Avenue of the Stars to deliver hair and make-up styling to the stars during the January Award Season. Yamaguchi Spa was the first in the beauty and spa industry to adapt Feng Shui to the Spa layout, services and products.

Jamie will also be showcasing his many talents and skills in designing hair during G'Day LA: Australia Week 2006 being held in Los Angeles from January 14-20. This week-long annual international event promotes Australian expertise in industries as diverse as art, entertainment, tourism, wine, food and beverages, energy, fashion, education, investment and sport.

Last year, the red carpet at this Penfold's Black Tie Gala Dinner included Aussie celebrities Mel Gibson, Geoffrey Rush, Cate Blanchett and the current IT couple, Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman, who met each other at this event in early 2005.

This year, celebrities such as Hugh Jackman, Olivia Newton John and her Grease partner John Travolta, INXS, Eric Bana and other Aussie Golden Globe nominees are expected to steal the limelight.

With so many celebrities in town, it's expected that Jamie, his team of stylists and the Yamaguchi salon will be kept very busy over the coming weekend.

With so much on his plate, it is amazing Carroll has also found time to commercialise his business smarts, not just his styling smarts. Instead of trying to do it all, time-poor Carroll decided to replicate himself, so to speak, with Envision Academy, a hairdressing training DVD being seen in more than 25 countries and in eight languages. Envision Academy is a series of step-by-step educational, professional training modules, which can be viewed by individual salon staff or used by salon educators, and are designed around current and future fashion trends.

An example of these unusual ways includes his current talks with U.S. firms to give a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to a U.S. hairdresser misplaced during Hurricane Katrina to travel to Australia to work with him at his Jamie Carroll Hair & Beauty salon near Sydney.

Jamie's extensive international show and publication experience along with his inspirational educational programs has led to Jamie creating a unique and specialized niche within the global industry.
