Established in 1971 by the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD), NASDAQ is an automated quotation system that reports on changed its new symbol from AAPR to "AASI." The change was due to an inadvertent error at NASDAQ whereby the AAPR symbol just issued to the company apparently conflicts with the symbol of a NYSE NYSE See: New York Stock Exchange company. As part of a five-for-one forward split announced Friday, May 23, 2003, Aussie Apparel's symbol was changed from AAPP to AAPR. NASDAQ informed the company Tuesday morning of the conflict in using AAPR and therefore NASDAQ provided the company with yet another new symbol -- AASI. The new symbol AASI -- issued today by NASDAQ -- will be effective at the opening of business on Wednesday, May 28, 2003.
