Aus boss: Our boy will come home when year is over; MAGNERS LEAGUE.

Byline: By AHMER KHOKHAR

AUSTRALIAN Rugby Union chief executive John O'Neill is adamant that Leinsterbound Rocky Elsom Rocky Elsom (born 14 February, 1983 in Melbourne) is an Australian rugby union footballer. He currently plays for the New South Wales Waratahs in the international Super 14 competition.  will leave Ireland after one just one season in the Magners League.

Wallabies superstar Elsom has signed a year-long deal with the reigning Magners League Champions but has the option of a 12 month extension if he decides to stay on.

O'Neill, however, believes Elsom, who has been granted an early release from his ARU ARU Australian Rugby Union

contract to join Leinster on Wednesday, has provisionally agreed to return to Australia in time for the start of the 2009 Tri-Nations and Bledisloe Cup series on June 1 next year.

"While the ink's not dry on the paper, the negotiations {between O'Neill and Elsom} are virtually complete that he will be back on June 1," O'Neill said.

And Wallabies coach Robbie Deans confirmed the rampaging flanker would extend his 55-match international career through to the 2010 world cup in New Zealand New Zealand (zē`lənd), island country (2005 est. pop. 4,035,000), 104,454 sq mi (270,534 sq km), in the S Pacific Ocean, over 1,000 mi (1,600 km) SE of Australia. The capital is Wellington; the largest city and leading port is Auckland. .

"It {Australia's winner-takes-all Bledisloe Cup defeat to New Zealand in Brisbane last Saturday} wasn't his last game-even though he got emotional," Deans said.

It's no coincidence that Australia suffered a one-sided defeat to the All Blacks in Auckland last month when Elsom was missing with a foot ligament injury.
