Aurum Software announces version 6.0 of customer support, quality tracking and telesales client server applications.

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 6, 1995--Aurum Software, a leading developer of sales, marketing and customer support information systems, today announced general availability of new versions of its fully integrated customer support, product improvement and telesales applications.

Aurum's newest release of SupportTrak, TeleTrak, and QualityTrak now come bundled with EventTrak, a powerful application designed to support enterprise-wide process management escalation and notifications through the monitoring of corporate databases with user definable business rules. With EventTrak, Aurum is taking the lead with its ability to offer advanced process management capabilities that cross business functions from sales and marketing to customer support, finance and inventory planning.

Additionally, version 6.0 of Aurum's applications have been built using Unify's VISION, an object-based, high-end client/server application development tool set. Using VISION, Aurum's applications can be easily and quickly customized to fit a customer's changing requirements. VISION provides full support for native Windows and Motif, including support for Microsoft's Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) and Object Linking and Embedding (OLE) integration capabilities. Aurum's new VISION-based applications now provide users with an intuitive, graphical user interface.

Aurum currently offers the broadest suite of fully integrated, enterprise software applications supporting sales, marketing and customer support requirements. EventTrak Improves Customer Service and Ties the Enterprise Together

Aurum's EventTrak application is an independent VISION-based application. It allows users to define business rules, notifications, and database updates based on tables in any application database. Using database triggers, EventTrak can act on conditional business rules to launch a variety of actions or tasks such as automatically changing the status or priority of a customer's call, sending emails or screen messages to notify staff about changes or adjusting values in the database to reflect new information.

Unify's Advanced VISION Tool Set Provides For Fast, Easy Customization

VISION provides an object-based, fourth-generation language (4GL) that supports complex transaction-intensive applications while enabling developers to customize applications faster. Under the VISION environment, Aurum customers will be able to scale their applications easily and can take advantage of the full support for Windows and Motif interfaces. Using VISION, Aurum and its customers will face no constraints in modifying Aurum's applications. In contrast, other applications written in C++ may experience difficulties handling text fields or require more coding to modify or extend application logic.

Expanded Functionality

Functional Navigation enhancements have been added to all of Aurum's version 6.0 applications, including icons, list boxes, and additional quick button access to data screens and functions. Aurum's SupportTrak application now provides a flexible call history look up screen providing users with multiple ways to look up and review historical call records. Calls may be quickly viewed by site, customer, product, problem or status. SupportTrak's Contract Administration module has been enhanced to offer support for multiple contract price points for different levels of service and tighter integration with SupportTrak. Contract Administration capabilities provide sophisticated contract management and pricing administration to support standard or tailored pricing with volume, schedule or line-item discounting.

Aggressive New Pricing/Product Bundling

New pricing and product bundling have been introduced for Aurum's version 6.0 applications. Prices have been reduced by an average of 35% and the VISION Application Development tool set now comes bundled with the application purchase. With this new aggressive pricing, Aurum is driving for increased market share. Customers purchasing any of these applications receive source code, first year maintenance, the IQ Report Writer and the Unify VISION Application Development tool set. Release 4.0 of the IQ Report Writer also now supports native Windows and Motif. Pricing is based on the number of concurrent users of each application per database server.
