Aurora To Drill Nickel Lake Discovery, Foy Property, Ontario.Business Editors VANCOUVER, B.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 13, 2001 Aurora Platinum Corp. (CDNX CDNX See Canadian Venture Exchange (CDNX). :ARP.) has initiated a second phase drilling program designed to test its Nickel Lake, copper-nickel-platinum-palladium discovery on the Foy Property Sudbury, Ontario. The Company recently announced the discovery of copper-nickel-PGM mineralization Mineralization The process by which the body uses minerals to build bone structure. Mentioned in: Rickets mineralization, n the bioprecipitation of an inorganic substance. , 400 metres below Nickel Lake, within the Foy Offset Dyke and adjacent to Inco Limited's Nickel Lake deposit (See new Borehole bore·hole n. The Nickel Lake mineralization is open both up-dip and down-dip from the drill intersection and airborne electromagnetic survey results over this part of the Foy Offset Dyke suggests that this mineralization extends along strike for approximately 400 metres and is connected at depth to Inco's Nickel Lake deposit. Drilling to define the extent of the Nickel Lake discovery mineralization will begin next week. Drilling is also planned for the Footwall foot·wall n. Geology 1. The mass of rock underlying a mineral deposit in a mine. 2. The underlying block of a fault having an inclined fault plane. Project on targets parallel to and below the Falconbridge and Falconbridge East Mines. Three 1,500 metre deep holes completed earlier this year were put down in the Footwall of the Falconbridge and Falconbridge East Mines covering a strike length of 1.2 kilometres. Downhole electromagnetic surveys detected strong offhole conductors in all three holes starting at a depth of approximately 1,000 metres. These anomalies all persist with depth and there was no closure to the conductors. Drill testing of these conductors will be initiated this month. Both the Foy and Footwall projects are part of an Option Joint Venture Agreement with Falconbridge Limited. Under the terms of the Agreement, Aurora has the option to earn a 60% interest in both the Footwall and Foy Offset Projects from Falconbridge by expending $6 million on exploration over three years. A commitment by Aurora to spend a minimum of $1 million during the first year of the Agreement has been met. Once Aurora earns a 60% interest, the joint venture partners will contribute on a pro rata [Latin, Proportionately.] A phrase that describes a division made according to a certain rate, percentage, or share.
