Aurora Systems (www.aurora-sys.com) is an international leader in the design and marketing of high-performance LCD display controllers and microLCD chipsets. Since its founding in 1997, Aurora Systems has been building a reputation for providing superior engineering and technical support to its OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and partners, enabling them to reach the marketplace more quickly.
Aurora System's ASI 320 digital processor is a fully programmable up and down scalar supporting up to SXGA (Super XGA) A screen resolution of 1280x1024 pixels. SXGA is commonly used on standard monitors, but provides a 1.25:1 aspect ratio, compared to the more common 1.33:1 (4:3) ratio. SXGA+ has a 1400x1050 resolution, which is an exact 1.33:1 ratio. The 15-inch ImageFlat L50A by Hyundai ImageQuest, which uses Aurora System's ASI 320 as its digital processor, is an active-matrix TFT (Thin Film Transistor) The term typically refers to active matrix screens on laptop computers. Active matrix LCD provides a sharper screen display and broader viewing angle than does passive matrix. See LCD and thin film.
TFT - Thin Film transistor monitor with XGA (EXtended Graphics Array) A screen resolution of 1,024x768 pixels. The term stems from IBM's XGA display standard introduced in 1990, which extended VGA to 132-column text and interlaced 1,024x768x256 resolution. XGA-2 later added non-interlaced 1,024x768x64K. resolution, and offers all the advantages -- crisp image, low-energy, and light weight -- of a high-quality flat panel PC monitor. The ImageFlat L50A currently is being marketed worldwide.
"Hyundai ImageQuest chose us over competitors because they felt the ASI 320 offered a higher quality of design and scalar capability than other image processors," said Dr. Mou Hsin Yang, CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. "Hyundai also liked our cost-effective solution, which included very good technical support. We went into their factory and provided engineering support to help them get the ImageFlat into production."
Young Kab Byun, the senior manager for Hyundai ImageQuest, stated, "Aurora Systems has provided us with a complete systems solution with the ASI 320, making it possible for us to offer our customers a superior product in a timely fashion."
