Aurora Platinum Corp: Nickel-Copper-PGM Sulphides Intersected at 200 Metres Depth Midrim Property, Quebec.

Business Editors

VANCOUVER, B.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 7, 2001

Aurora Platinum Corp. (CDNX:ARP.) is pleased to announce that the latest phase of drilling on the Midrim No. 6 nickel-copper-PGM mineralized zone resulted in the discovery of disseminated to massive sulphides at a depth of 200 metres in hole MR 01-76.

Hole MR 01-76 intersected 7.65 metres of mineralization from 200.65 to 208.30 metres assaying 0.8% nickel, 1.2% copper, 0.4 g/t platinum and 1.1g/t palladium (1.5 g/t platinum and palladium) within the north limb of a folded gabbro gabbro: see basalt. sequence which appears to be the same horizon hosting the Lac lac (lak) [L.]

Croche mineralization located 700 metres to the northeast. This gives the No. 6 zone a potential 1,000 metres strike length if continuous with the Lac Croche mineralization. Midrim forms part of the Midrim-Belleterre-Angliers project comprised of 11,468 hectares of optioned and 100% owned claims. Four separate high-grade nickel-copper-PGM mineralized zones have been drilled to date and all of these are contained within gabbro bodies interlayered with basic to felsic volcanics. Much of the area is covered by overburden.

Subsequent to the drilling program, Aurora has received the final results of its recently completed Megatem II airborne magnetics/electromagnetics survey which was flown over the Midrim-Belleterre-Angliers area. A total of 36 significant airborne electromagnetic conductors were detected with the survey.

Several of these occur along the gabbro horizon hosting the deep mineralization at Midrim. The Lac Croche mineralization and the interpreted extension (based on magnetics) of the gabbro horizon to the north of Lac Croche also contains a number of discrete EM conductors. The gabbro horizon has a very distinct magnetic signature to the north of Midrim-Lac Croche and several exceptional electromagnetic conductors occurring within this horizon are priority drill targets.

Quality Control:

Aurora has implemented a quality control program to ensure best practice in the sampling and analysis of the drill core. Where thick intervals of mineralization are encountered, half of the drill core is sampled in one-metre intervals for disseminated mineralization and half metre intervals for massive mineralization. The remaining half of the core is stored in a secure location. The drill core was personally transported by the Project Geologist in security-sealed bags for analysis at Les Laboratoires XRAL (a division of SGS Canada Inc.), Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec. This laboratory is preparing for ISO 17025 certification and has participated successfully for the last two years in the CANMET CANMET - Canada Centre for Mineral and Energy Technology PTP-MAL round robin program.

Samples are dried if necessary and crushed to 90% passing minus 10 mesh at XRAL's sample preparation facility. Crusher rejects are stored at the laboratory and a subsample of approximately 300 grams is riffled and pulverized to 90% passing minus 200 mesh.

Gold, platinum and palladium are analyzed by fire assay with a DCP finish. A gravimetric assay is done for gold values greater than 1000 ppb.

Silver, copper, nickel and cobalt were initially digested in a partial extraction and analyzed by atomic absorption. For values greater than 10,000 ppm a total digestion with atomic absorption finish is undertaken.

In addition to the laboratory's internal analysis of accuracy and precision, Aurora submits its own standards for analysis of accuracy of the results and will be submitting a number of pulp duplicates to another lab for analysis of precision.

Aurora Platinum Corp. is a well-financed company actively exploring for nickel-copper-platinum-palladium deposits in Ontario and Quebec. The Company has a joint venture with Falconbridge Limited in the Sudbury District and a joint venture with Inco Limited covering a large area in Northern Ontario. Aurora is also aggressively exploring its 100%-owned Lansdowne Property in Northwestern Ontario.
