Aurora Health Care Signs Multi-Suite Contract with Lawson Software.

Wisconsin's Largest Health System Will Use the Lawson Applications to Consolidate Disparate Financial Systems

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Aurora Health Care signed a multi-suite contract with Lawson Software (Nasdaq:LWSN) in Lawson's first quarter of fiscal 2007, which ended Aug. 31, 2006. The health system licensed Lawson Enterprise Financial Management and Business Intelligence suites to facilitate timely and accurate financial reporting. By automating its core business processes, Aurora expects to enhance its internal controls and increase operational efficiencies.

Based in Milwaukee, Wis., Aurora operates 13 hospitals with 2,935 licensed beds, in addition to approximately 100 clinic sites and more than 120 community pharmacies throughout eastern Wisconsin. Aurora has more than 25,000 employees, including 697 employed physicians.

"We had put a variety of bandages on our legacy general ledger system to support our evolving requirements, but we eventually outgrew its functionality," said Carl Knauer, vice president of Financial Operations for Aurora Health Care. "Lawson met our business requirements and its applications are compatible with our existing IT infrastructure. Now, we'll be able to standardize a number of complex financial processes on one system-wide platform, improving Aurora's financial reporting accuracy and efficiency."

Replacing Aurora's legacy financial system, the Lawson applications will help enforce Aurora's internal controls, standardize data for improved transaction tracking and automate many formerly paper-based processes. Aurora also plans to use Lawson Business Intelligence to create and distribute functional reports for its geographically-dispersed entities. For example, Aurora will be able to quickly compile and report on key data by function or practice - such as women's health, cardiac care or cancer treatment - across the system, instead of manually combining this information from each hospital. This will help enable Aurora managers to make better business decisions more quickly.

Lawson Professional Services will provide implementation services for Aurora's rollout of Lawson Enterprise Financial Management and Lawson Business Intelligence, which the health system expects to complete in January 2008.
