Aurora's Century Division expands Canadian operations; leading PC parts distributor opens new office in Markham, Ontario.

) Tuesday announced the expansion of its Century Computer Marketing division's Canadian operations in response to customer demand.

The new office will be located in Markham, Ontario Markham (2006 Population 261,573[0]) is located in York Region, directly north of Toronto, and is part of Toronto's CMA. It is larger than many Canadian cities. Despite its qualifications regarding population, it has not had the title of city conferred upon it by the , just outside of Toronto, and the current office in Hull will continue to provide support for the Ottawa region. Aurora/Century is an international distributor of new and used computer spare parts Spare parts, also referred to as Service Parts is a term used to indicate extra parts available and in proximity to the mechanical item, such as a automobile, boat, engine, for which they might be used.

Susan Strudwick, who joins Aurora/Century as general manager, will head the Canadian operation. Most recently, Strudwick was president of VisionTex, a supplier of PC parts and services, and has extensive experience in managing fourth-party service organizations. Aurora/Century will provide its customers, which include third-party maintenance organizations and the service departments of major original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), with same-day availability for a wide range of PC and PC-related parts.

Aurora/Century's advance exchange program is of special interest to many service providers. Lines supported include Compaq, Apple, IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries) , Toshiba and others. Various parts stocking, inventory management and logistics services are also offered.

With headquarters in Irvine, Aurora Electronics provides computer OEMs and service organizations with spare parts distribution, electronics recycling and asset recovery services which support the worldwide installed base.
