Aurient Resources Ltd. Appoints Colin Bryant Vice President, Exploration.

HAMILTON, BERMUDA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 18, 1996--AURIENT RESOURCES LTD.(Alberta Stock Exchange:AUN) The Board of Directors of Aurient Resources Ltd. (ASE.AUN) is pleased to announce that Colin Bryant has joined the company as Vice President, Exploration.

Mr. Bryant, a resident of Perth, Western Australia, has over twenty years experience working in the minerals industry in Southeast Asia and Australia. He will be primarily responsible for directing Aurient's exploration and development activities, with a particular focus on identifying and negotiating acquisitions and joint venture opportunities in Southeast Asia and Australia.

Mr. Bryant is a professional geologist with extensive expertise in exploration for precious and base metals. Following extensive field work with AMAX Exploration and UTAH Development, he joined BP Minerals (Southeast Asia) Limited in 1984 and was subsequently appointed Exploration Manager of its gold exploration programs in Indonesia and surrounding regions, including the management of joint ventures and liaison with senior government officials in the region. He was responsible for exploration of the Monterado Alluvial Gold Deposit in northwest Kalimantan which commenced production in 1989.

In 1989, Mr. Bryant became resident manager (Indonesia) for Renison Goldfields Consolidated Limited ("RGC"), where he managed its exploration for primary and alluvial gold as well as base metal deposits in Sumatra and Kalimantan. During this time, he was also a director of P.T. Koba Tin, a seventy-five percent owned RGC Company that produced six thousand tons of tin per annum. In July 1991, Mr. Bryant became an independent consulting geologist based in Perth, Western Australia during which time he reviewed and advised on gold, base metal and other commodity targets in Australia, Indonesia and other countries for a number of multi-national companies and investors.

A fluent Indonesian speaker, Colin Bryant is married with three children.
