Aureus Group buys eight ALFs from Marriott.


Dallas-based Aureus The aureus (pl. aurei) was a gold coin of ancient Rome valued at 25 silver denarii.  communities from Marriott International Inc. for $140 million in cash. Aureus Group develops and acquires senior living communities across the U.S. in alliance with regional and national management companies.

Marriott Senior Living Services will continue to operate the communities. Two of the communities opened in the fourth quarter of 1998, one in Danvers, Massachusetts, and the other in Woodbridge, Connecticut. The other communities are under construction. Related sales will be finalized as the communities, located in California, Virginia, and Maryland, open over the next four months.
