Opened in 1988, as Palmer's idea of an American Lutece, Aureole quickly became a beloved New York New York, state, United States
New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of
 establishment marking Palmer's commitment to creating dishes featuring regional American ingredients. Similar to his other restaurants situated in historic locations, from Metrazur in Grand Central Terminal, to his eponymous steak house on Capitol Hill, Palmer chooses a significant destination for his new home.

"Aureole is my soul--my first restaurant", states Palmer. "We would only consider a move with a perfect partnership, and I am thrilled to be a part of the bold and dynamic project already in development at One Bryant Park," affirms Palmer. Aureole will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2008 at the townhouse where Palmer's career took flight.

"Charlie Palmer's innovative and refined cuisine is a perfect match for New York's most environmentally advanced building, said Jody Durst, Co-President of The Durst Organization. "Chef Palmer's creative use of intense flavors and unexpected combinations elevates food to another level. Aureole will cement the Bank of America Tower at One Bryant Park as New York's most desirable address." A new team, executive chef Tony Aiazzi and general manager Charles Pouchot, is assembled to pave the way for Aureole's 20th anniversary. "Tony translates my cooking and culinary style perfectly to the plate. It is an honor to have him leading the stoves of Aureole after being a part of my kitchen team for the past eight years."

Chef Aiazzi is joined by a new general manger, Charles Pouchot, a veteran of the Dinex group who brings the style of hospitality and service that Aureole for which Aureole has become known.

"We look forward to our future with an admiration and appreciation of the past" says Palmer.
