The El Tigre El Tigre is a city in the eastern Venezuelan state of Anzoátegui. This city is the shire town of the Simón Rodríguez Municipality and, according to the 2001 Venezuelan census, the municipality has a population of 147,800. gold anomaly has yielded values in stream sediments of up to 40.4 ppm and abundant gold in the pan. http://www.aurelian.ca/media/press/eltigrepress.jpg The anomaly is a minimum of 300 x 400 metres in size and defined by soil geochemistry geochemistry, study of the chemical changes on the earth. More specifically, it is the study of the absolute and relative abundances of chemical elements in the minerals, soils, ores, rocks, water, and atmosphere of the earth and the distribution and movement of and stream sediments. It is surrounded by a broader zone of anomalous silver, arsenic arsenic (är`sənĭk), a semimetallic chemical element; symbol As; at. no. 33; at. wt. 74.9216; m.p. 817°C; (at 28 atmospheres pressure); sublimation point 613°C;; sp. gr. (stable form) 5.73; valence −3, 0, +3, or +5. , copper, and zinc in soils. Panning at the headwater head·wa·ter n. The water from which a river rises; a source. Often used in the plural. Noun 1. headwater - the source of a river; "the headwaters of the Nile" sources of several very small streams has yielded abundant gold grains up to 4 millimetres in size. Several pan concentrates yielded in excess of 100 gold grains. The grains are irregularly shaped and hackly hack·ly adj. Nicked or notched; jagged. There are limited rock outcrops within the area of the anomaly and it is planned to further investigate it with further follow-up sampling and pitting. Magnetic and IP surveys are also planned. The El Tigre anomaly is only four kilometers east of the Bonza-Las Penas gold-silver deposit. The Technical Report authored by Micon International Ltd., concerning Bonza-Las Penas, which presents a resource estimate of 517,000 oz gold and 5,605,500 oz silver was filed on http://www.sedar.com on January 14th, 2005 and is available for download. The El Tigre anomaly is in an entirely virgin area that is untouched by artesanal miners. It was discovered through follow-up of 2 anomalous samples collected in spring 2004 in Aurelian's regional stream sediment reconnaissance programme. Stream sediment reconnaissance has been completed on approximately one third of Aurelian's holdings of 95,000 hectares, most of which have never been geologically explored.
