Aurelian Commences Regional Exploration Program on The Condor Project and Completes Phase I Mineral Resource Drilling at The Bonza Las Penas Prospect.

TORONTO -- Aurelian Resources Inc. (ARU:TSX-V) is pleased to announce that work has commenced on the 2004-2005 regional stream sediment geochemistry program. This exploration phase will consist of two parts: detection of further gold and copper anomalies in the Aurelian license areas and follow-up of six gold anomalies generated during the 2003-2004 regional program. Coverage will include previously unexplored 65,000 hectares of Aurelian's nearly 95,000 hectare land holdings in southeastern Ecuador.

Stream sediment surveys have been used in exploration with tremendous success in areas surrounding the Aurelian properties. Using this method, Billiton plc discovered 12 significant copper +/- gold porphyry systems in the northern part of the Cordillera del Condor, adjacent to Aurelian's holdings. One of these discoveries is currently the subject of a feasibility study (PR 17/05/04 - Corriente Resources Inc.). The current regional stream sediment work will continue throughout the current dry season until early March 2005.

Aurelian is also pleased to announce completion of Phase I of resource drilling on the Bonza - Las Penas structure. Drilling for a preliminary mineral resource tested only 650 m of strike of gold in soils anomaly of approximately 2.5 km in length. Core is being logged and sampled for shipment to the lab for assay. Results will be released after they have been received and compiled.

One of the two diamond drills working on the Phase I resource drilling has been mobilized 7 km to the south of Bonza - Las Penas to the Puente zone. Previous surface work at Puente includes a total of 90 diamond-sawed channel samples taken on a series of epithermal quartz veins. Of the 90 channel samples, 54% assayed in excess of 1 g/t gold, even though not all samples were of visibly mineralized material. The quartz veins have been traced for almost 100 metres strike length with indications of mineralization further south. The purpose of the drill program is to test the extent of mineralization at depth.

Aurelian Resources Inc. is a junior resource company engaged in the business of exploring for, with the ultimate goal of developing and producing, precious and/or base metals from its properties located in southeastern Ecuador.
