Aurelian Commences 2006 Exploration Drilling.

TORONTO -- Aurelian Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:ARU) is pleased to announce the start of 2006 exploration drilling at its Condor Project in southeastern Ecuador.

The program commences with scout drilling at the Camp porphyry copper target and then moves to the Fruta Del Norte (FDN) area to test the interpreted continuation of the Bonza-Las Penas epithermal gold-silver deposit.

Patrick F.N. Anderson, president and CEO, states "In the second half of 2005 Aurelian geologists discovered the copper bearing Camp porphyry and tested the edge of the system. With the current phase of drilling, we are targeting the centre of the system's geophysical signature with the goal of hitting more robust mineralization".

The Camp porphyry copper target is currently defined by an 800m by 500m intense magnetic anomaly that is open to the west. The porphyry target has been tested by only a single drill hole (CP-05-46) on the edge of the anomaly, with the final 42.35 m assaying 0.31% copper (PR 28/11/2005). Copper assays steadily increase down the length of the hole, which only tested the perimeter of the large magnetic anomaly. The target is entirely covered by post-mineralisation conglomerate that was 20m true thickness in drill hole CP-05-46. The drilling program will test the central area of the magnetic anomaly that is also coincident with an intense chargeability and resistivity anomaly.

On completion of this phase of drilling, the rig will be moved into the FDN area to test a strong coincident chargeability and resistivity anomaly that geophysics indicates is the continuation of the Bonza-Las Penas gold-silver epithermal system, 1km to the north and along strike. A successful intersection of epithermal gold mineralisation would extend the strike of the mineralised structure to over 3km, of which only 750m has been extensively drilled and included in the inferred mineral resource estimate. The FDN target is completely buried by post-mineralisation sandstone estimated at between 20 and 50m thickness. Mapping and sampling has recently identified epithermal chalcedonic quartz in a parallel zone 150m to the west within the adjacent conglomerate
