Ishida Europe has devised and installed a bespoke weighing and packing solution for Tryton Foods, makers of the famous Aunt Bessie's Yorkshire Puddings.

The Ishida multi-head weighers feature the Count Priority software that uses average weight of each individual Yorkshire Pudding to calculate and 'count' by weight the required number into bags of 12,15 and 25 puddings. Central to each line is a multi-head weigher operating in twin-mode enabling the machine to weigh and pack product into two packs simultaneously. This enabled Tryton Foods to change the packaging of its Yorkshire puddings from flow-wrapped trays to bags. To minimise downtime, washing facilities have been installed at the top of the gantry by the weighers, allowing faster cleaning between production runs. Different programmes and pack sizes are stored in the weighers' memory for fast changeover at the touch of a button on the colour touch screen RCU. As Yorkshire puddings are quite voluminous, Ishida specified 5-litre hoppers.
