Le Corbusier Le Corbusier (lə kôrbüzyā`), pseud. of Charles Édouard Jeanneret (shärl ādwär` zhänərā`), 1887–1965, French architect, b. La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland.  used to believe that power Stations were the cathedrals of the twentieth century and now, it seems, museums are the powerhouses of culture in the twenty-first. The August AR is devoted to exploring the best and latest. There will be quite a strong emphasis on Britain, where Millennial investment has enabled a great variety to be opened recently: notably the hugely successful Tate Modern The Tate Modern in London is Britain's national museum of international modern art and is, with Tate Britain, Tate Liverpool, Tate St Ives, and Tate Online[1], part of the group now known simply as Tate.  in London, a literal transformation of powerhouse to museum by Herzog & De Meuron. Other London buildings will include Rick Mather's reworking of the Dulwich Soane, and the National Portrait Gallery National Portrait Gallery can refer to:

  • Portrait Gallery of Canada in Ottawa, Ontario.

 Art Museum in Reykjavik by Studio Granda Studio Granda is a practice of architects based in Reykjavík, Iceland. It was founded in 1987 by wife and husband team Margrét Hardardóttir (1959, Reykjavík, Iceland) and Steve Christer (1960, Blackfyne, UK). They studied at the Architectural Association in London. , the mysterious Sami Museum in Finnish Lapland by Juhani Pallasma a, the Fine Arts Museum in Houston, Texas by Rafael Moneo.
