August arrival for clean new Peugeot 207 model.

Byline: Steve Hughes

THE new Peugeot 207 range is to be introduced in August with a choice of three body styles and a dozen engines.

There is revised styling inside and out plus new standard equipment designed to maintain the 207's position as Europe's bestselling small car. The three body styles are hatchback, estate and coupe/cabriolet, each of which gets a redesigned front end and more body colouring and a greater use of chrome.

There are striking new rear light clusters with light-emitting diodes outside and new trims plus revised instrumentation panels inside.

Engine modifications also mean that some models achieve a CO2 rating below 100g/km for the first time, making them exempt from car tax.

The arrival of the new models will also herald the introduction of a range of standard equipment including the Peugeot Connect USB and Bluetooth system, one-touch direction indicator, remote-controlled window closing via the key fob and a one-touch function for the driver's window. Peugeot says further information on individual specifications and prices will not be released until next month.
