August Mack's eCAP: Keeping Manufacturers Lean and Environmentally Compliant.

Business Editors

COLUMBUS, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 10, 2003

In today's slow economy, manufacturing facilities are being pressured to operate at their leanest while also maintaining compliance with the Environmental Protection Agency Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), independent agency of the U.S. government, with headquarters in Washington, D.C. It was established in 1970 to reduce and control air and water pollution, noise pollution, and radiation and to ensure the safe handling and  and local regulations. In addition, they must manage the legal risks associated with pollution while implementing environmental initiatives to meet their environmental quality mission statements. In response, August Mack Environmental has developed an outsourcing program that accomplishes all of these objectives. By outsourcing environmental management to August Mack's team of technical experts, a facility can reduce its costs and liabilities while improving its environmental quality within the community.

eCAP(SM) (Compliance Assurance Program) has been implemented at over 30 facilities throughout North America North America, third largest continent (1990 est. pop. 365,000,000), c.9,400,000 sq mi (24,346,000 sq km), the northern of the two continents of the Western Hemisphere. , allowing plant personnel to focus on the production aspects of their operation while August Mack's environmental experts develop, implement and maintain environmental programs associated with a variety of compliance issues and environmental risks. These topics include air emissions, water quality, hazardous waste Hazardous waste

According to Amy Holthouse, Marketing Coordinator for August Mack, "If a facility is cited for being out of compliance under an eCAP module, August Mack will pay the penalty." According to Popovics, "The guarantee can do nothing but add to our already strong environmental compliance program. It never hurts to have another set of eyes reviewing our operations."

eCAP takes August Mack's 15 years of experience with its clients one step further by not only providing consulting but by eliminating management's regulatory burden of performing frequent site inspections, regulatory reporting, record keeping and pollution prevention strategies.
