13-22 Anchorage Silver Salmon Derby

Catch the big one at Ship Creek Ship Creek is an Alaskan river that flows from the Chugach Mountains into Cook Inlet. 14 Meet the World at the Museum

This colorful celebration will showcase music and dance performances, art, crafts, games and food from the many cultural groups that call Anchorage home. Admission to the event is free. 14 Kodiak Kid's Pink Salmon pink salmon

Food fish (Oncorhynchus gorbuscha, family Salmonidae) of the North Pacific that constitutes half of the commercial fishery of Pacific salmon. It weighs about 4.5 lbs (2 kg) and is marked with large, irregular spots. Pink salmon often spawn on tidal flats.
