Offering the latest Intel and new DirectVue[TM] LCD technologies, the XTG provides military, industrial, government and commercial customers with a military-standard, mission-critical mobile computing Using a computing device while in transit. Mobile computing implies wireless transmission, but wireless transmission does not necessarily imply mobile computing. Fixed wireless applications use satellites, radio systems and lasers to transmit between permanent objects such as buildings  system based on the award-winning Dell[TM] Latitude[TM] mobile platform.

"The Augmentix XTG630 redefines what customers can expect from fully-rugged computing systems," said Stephan Godevais, President and Chief Executive Officer of Augmentix. "By leveraging Dell's award-winning Latitude systems and applying Augmentix rugged engineering expertise, the XTG630 delivers measurable benefits to our customers including a common Dell IT architecture, superior quality and reliability, and next-generation performance in a highly-secure and fully-rugged computing system," Godevais said.

) a Technology Market Research Firm, stated, "We see increasing market interest in full MIL-STD-810F rugged notebooks that offer higher levels of performance, more advanced wireless functionality and security support. The Augmentix XTG630, in addition to being the industry's first widescreen fully-rugged notebook, delivers significant functionality in all of these key areas and provides a common IT architecture with Dell's Latitude systems which offers the potential to reduce IT management complexity for these platforms."

Incorporating Intel's newest mobile processors, the new XTG comes equipped with the industry's first 14.1" wide-aspect DirectVue[TM] LCD screen, multi-level security features and next-generation wireless performance. Independently tested to operate in extreme conditions, patent-pending design features include Augmentix's Armored Protection System[TM] (APS) and QuadCool[TM] thermal management system.

Key Product features of the XTG630 include:

* Augmentix Armored Protection System (APS): A proven ruggedization system that includes a dense magnesium exoskeleton exoskeleton /exo·skel·e·ton/ (-skel´e-ton) a hard structure formed on the outside of the body, as a crustacean's shell; in vertebrates, applied to structures produced by the epidermis, as hair, nails, hoofs, teeth, etc. , over-mold protection system, and patent-pending QuadCool thermal management system.

* Common Dell Platform: The XTG630 features Dell's Latitude D630 and ATG ATG antithymocyte globulin.
