Augmentix(TM) Launches Rugged A+860 Server Based on Dell's(TM) PowerEdge(TM) Platform.

A+860 1U Server Delivers a Highly Functional, Durable, Cost-Effective Solution for Mission-Critical Space-Conscious Environments

AUSTIN, Texas -- Augmentix[TM] Corporation, an innovative provider of computing solutions for mission-critical environments, announced today the introduction of the A+860 1U Server, a server that takes both durability and availability to new levels. Based on the Dell PowerEdge This article or section needs sources or references that appear in reliable, third-party publications. Alone, primary sources and sources affiliated with the subject of this article are not sufficient for an accurate encyclopedia article.  860 1U server, Augmentix launched the A+ version, which incorporates state of the art thermal management and security, along with shock, vibration and contaminants protection, to meet the mission critical needs of military and industrial customers worldwide.

The A+860 has been re-packed into a sub 20" depth steel enclosure which is a requirement for many space conscious military and industrial customers. In addition Augmentix has shock and front mounted two user accessible SATA (Serial ATA) A serial version of the ATA (IDE) interface, which has been the de facto standard hard disk interface for desktop PCs for more than two decades. The original Parallel ATA (PATA) interface was launched in 1986.  or SAS (1) (SAS Institute Inc., Cary, NC, www.sas.com) A software company that specializes in data warehousing and decision support software based on the SAS System.  Filtration Systems support reliable and continuous A+ 860 operation in extreme operating conditions. The A+860 is independently tested (select MIL-STD-810F) and designed to military standards (MIL-STD-901D, MIL-STD-167, MIL-STD-1474) further validating the reliable performance of Augmentix A+860 in mission-critical applications under demanding conditions.

The A+860 features Single, Dual or Quad Core A single chip with four distinct processors that work simultaneously. Intel introduced its first x86-based quad-core CPUs in late 2006 (see Core 2), and AMD introduced its first x86 quad-core chips in 2007 (see Opteron). See dual core.  Intel[R] Xeon processors, a 1066MHz (MegaHertZ) One million cycles per second. Already known for building rugged products that can withstand the harshest of environments, Augmentix is also focused on developing servers, such as the A+860, that leverage the company's patent pending intelligent Server Availability Management Processor ("A+SAMP") System.

Augmentix A+SAMP is an embedded Inserted into. See embedded system. , self contained computer that resides in the A+860 PCIx slot. SAMP monitors and reports on the overall health of the server and can be customized to specific application needs while providing autonomous monitoring and recovery with limited IT personnel intervention. SAMP has been deployed in over 17,000 systems and has provided positive Return on Investment results based on reduced field service calls, shortened recovery times and increased uptime or availability of the server solutions.

"By leveraging Dell's advanced PowerEdge server roadmap and applying our engineering design expertise we are able to create powerful, durable, rack dense server solutions that are affordable and provide higher levels of availability for our customers," said Augmentix Vice President of Marketing Richard Perley. "We maintain Dell's common internal electronic architecture so that customers receive the same operating system operating system (OS)
