Audium Receives Top Honors at Speech Industry's Premier Event; Audium selected as 'Best Service Creation and Management Solution' and Convergys/Audium Honored with Three Major Awards at SpeechTEK 2004.

NEW YORK -- Audium, the worldwide leader in packaged VoiceXML software, today announced that it has received four major industry awards at the 10th Annual SpeechTEK Conference and Expo, held September 13-16 at New York City's Marriott Marquis.

Audium software won the Best Service Creation and Management Solution award for speech, in a competition that included software offerings from the entire speech IVR industry. Speech Technology Magazine's Speech Solutions Awards are the recognized as the industry's preeminent awards, and are selected by Speech Technology Magazine readers through an online poll.

Audium also teamed with Convergys Corporation, a global leader in integrated billing, employee care, and customer care services, for the Speech Solutions CHALLENGE II, a one-day competition to design, develop, and deploy a speech application. For the second consecutive year in competition, the team took the top awards, including the People's Choice Award, Customer's Choice Award, and a Gold Medal for Application Performance. The People's Choice Award is voted on by conference attendees and given to the team that developed the CHALLENGE's best speech application.

The Convergys/Audium team was honored with the Customer's Choice award by an actual customer for creating a speech application that best met their needs and preferences - in this case, a book and ticket application for minor league baseball. The team also captured the Performance Award for best speech recognition accuracy and fewest error rates based on analysis conducted by Voice Architects, an independent company that evaluates speech application performance.
