Oversight may refer to:
  • Government regulation — The role of an official authority in regulating a separate authority.
 Board's decision to adopt the AICPA's auditing standards as the PCAOB's interim auditing standards. Cooperative discussions since that time have resulted in the PCAOB PCAOB Public Company Accounting Oversight Board  publishing the interim standards for audits of public companies and making them available free of charge through its Web site (www.pcaobus.org).

, in a coordinated effort to better serve non-members and members, recently made authoritative standards for audits of non-issuers available to the public on its Web site (www.aicpa.org/ members/div/auditstd/ index.htm). The AICPA decided to make the standards available online to demonstrate its commitment to further enhancing the public's understanding of the audit process. This step will eliminate confusion and ensure the greatest clarity for auditors AUDITORS, practice. Persons lawfully appointed to examine and digest accounts referred to them, take down the evidence in writing, which may be lawfully offered in relation to such accounts, and prepare materials on which a decree or judgment may be made; and to report the whole, together ; they now have ready access to current information from both organizations.
