Audiovox Corporation's Electronics Division Receives QS-9000 / ISO-9001 Registration.

: VOX) a leading provider of electronic products and accessories, today announced that its Electronics Division has received QS-9000 and ISO- iso- or is-
pref.

9001 registration from TUV (Technischer Überwachungs-Verein) Literally "Technical Watch-Over Association." A German certifying body involved with product safety for the European community.  Essen. The registration was issued on December 23, 1998.

Pat Lavelle, Senior Vice President, Electronics Division stated, "Receiving QS-9000 registration is a huge accomplishment for our Company and one that all of our employees have worked hard to achieve. Audiovox Corporation announced on December 16, 1998, that Audiovox Venezuela, an 80% subsidiary of the Company, had earned QS-9000 registration and that Audiovox Specialized Applications LLC (Logical Link Control) See "LANs" under data link protocol.

QS-9000 is the set of quality requirements established primarily by the U.S. automakers to assure the continued provisions of quality product. QS-9000 is derived from ISO-9001, the international standards for quality, but includes requirements and measurements that are specific to the auto industry.
