: VOX) today announced that it has begun shipping its new TDM (Time Division Multiplexing) A technology that transmits multiple signals simultaneously over a single transmission path. Each lower-speed signal is time sliced into one high-speed transmission.  2500 digital handsets, the company's first entry into the TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access) A satellite and cellular phone technology that interleaves multiple digital signals onto a single high-speed channel. Operating in the TDMA mode, the phone provides 140 minutes talk time (210 minutes with the upgrade 1500 MAh NiMH battery) and 100 hours standby (180 hours with the upgrade battery). In analog, the TDM 2500 provides 80 minutes of talk time (130 minutes with the upgrade battery) and 15 hours standby (25 hours with the upgrade battery).

Other attractive functions include a large, 4 line x 14 character LCD Display, Last Number Redial In telecommunication, an automatic redial is a service feature that allows the user to dial, by depressing a single key or a few keys, the most recent telephone number dialed at that instrument. , Memory Location Combined Function, Talk Time Display, 32 Digit Dialing and 99 Alpha Numeric Memory Locations, Short Message Received and Storage Indication as well as Voice Privacy and Auto Answer. The phone displays four different languages, including English, French, Spanish and Portuguese. Optional accessories include an extended life 1500 MAh Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) A rechargeable battery technology that has approximately 30-50% more charge per pound than nickel cadmium. Introduced in the early 1990s, it uses nickel and metal hydride plates with potassium hydroxide as the electrolyte.  battery, a desktop charger and an earpiece microphone for hands-free use.
