AudioFAX Issues License to Concord Network Services For Fax Broadcast and Fax Mailbox Technologies.


ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 5, 1996--AudioFAX I.P. LLC (Logical Link Control) See "LANs" under data link protocol.

 announced today that Concord Network Services, Inc, a leading enhanced fax services provider based in Seattle Washington, has entered into an agreement for a long term license covering the use of AudioFAX patented fax technologies. The patents cover fax broadcast, fax mailbox A simulated mailbox in the computer that holds e-mail messages. Mailboxes are stored on disk as a file of messages, a database of messages or as an individual file for each message. The standard mailboxes are usually In, Out, Trash and Junk (Spam). , and certified See certification.  fax technologies owned by AudioFAX.

"Concord was particularly interested in the `paperless' fax technologies covered by the patents," said Mark Bloomfield, president of AudioFAX I.P. LLC. "This permits a user to interface to a fax store and forward system through a PC to retrieve personal faxes transmitted to a mailbox or an account. Additionally, a broadcast user can setup and administer a broadcast session through their PC. Concord's decision to pursue a license under these patents strengthens their service offering substantially."

AudioFAX has previously licensed its patents and technologies to other telecommunications companies See telecom company.  including Northern Telecom, Teledex, Digital Sound, Delrina/Symantec, Boston Technology, Smartalk Teleservices, and others.

Concord Network Services was established in 1996 and was spun off as a subsidiary of Midcom Communications and later purchased by a private investment group. The company provides fax mailbox and fax broadcast services as part of the Winfax Pro software solution distributed by Delrina/Symantec.
