Audible, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADBL) today announced, at the launch of Palm, Inc.'s new Palm(TM) Tungsten(TM) T handheld, the ability for users of the new handheld to listen to any of Audible.com's 34,000 hours of downloadable audiobooks and more.

The Palm Tungsten T handheld is Palm's first announced ARM-based product, with new features including integrated audio capabilities and other solutions for mobile professionals and serious business users, people who also tend to find Audible's service of value. In addition, Audible software and free trial offers will ship on the CD-ROM of future Palm handhelds. Audible.com(R) offers downloadable digests of leading newspapers and magazines, need-to-know business news and analysis as well as language learning, public radio, original programming and many thousands of audiobooks.

Tungsten T launch, Palm will promote free Audible.com software and commercial audio content potentially valued at over $100. Audible's free offer to Tungsten T users consists of 3 months of The New York Times daily audio digest as well one free month of Palm Listener--any one audiobook from Audible's selection of 6,000 titles and two one-month audio subscriptions to other regularly-delivered programs such as Forbes and [e-mail].

With the integration of Audible, the Palm Tungsten T handheld is transformed into go-anywhere audio playback devices, capable of easily storing 5 hours of downloaded Audible audio on internal RAM and many more hours on optional SD Card media. Audible.com listeners can download audio on-demand or automatically via subscriptions, and listen to leading business and news content as well as entertainment programming wherever they go.

All of Audible.com's audio will be available for seamless download and transfer to Palm Tungsten T handhelds later in the fourth quarter of 2002. All Palm Tungsten T handhelds will be 'field upgradeable,' meaning that with a simple application install they will become AudibleReady(TM) and compatible with Audible's audio service.

Audible(R) has also developed an enterprise solution in which proprietary corporate communications and knowledge management can be securely and efficiently delivered to mobile employees, clients or vendors who use a Palm Tungsten T handheld.
