AuctionDrop Hosts Collections at Bay Area Charity Events.

News Editors/High-Tech Writers

SAN CARLOS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 24, 2003

AuctionDrop, the leading eBay drop-off service, today announced it is hosting "fundraising collections" throughout the San Francisco Bay Area “Bay Area” redirects here. For other uses, see Bay Area (disambiguation).

The San Francisco Bay Area, colloquially known as the Bay Area or The Bay
at charity events including the American Heart Association's Heart Walk and Save the Music on September 28, 2003. AuctionDrop's fundraising program offers people a new way to give to the charities and schools they support. Donations of new and used merchandise are received by AuctionDrop and later auctioned on eBay with net proceeds going to charity.

"People contribute as much as they can but in a down economy, charities and school fundraising programs suffer," said Effie Milionis, fundraising program manager at AuctionDrop. "This is a new and creative way for charities to augment current fundraising programs and for schools to fill in budget gaps. Check to see if your school or charity is listed and donate at any AuctionDrop location. If it isn't, enrollment is easy and free."

AuctionDrop helps people turn their unwanted things into cash. People simply drop off their items and AuctionDrop's trained staff takes care of the rest including professional photography, eBay listing, payment processing, customer service, shipping and returns. Through the fundraising program the proceeds of an auction are donated to charity. Each donated item's listing states that the net proceeds of that auction benefit charity. Participation is free for donors.

Currently over 40 organizations participate in AuctionDrop's fundraising program.
