The entire 2,500 word interview is available free online at http://www.twst.com/ceos.htm James gives an overview of the Company, "Atwood Oceanics was incorporated in 1968 and became public in 1970, so we've been in existence almost 35 years. The company is solely engaged in the business of international offshore drilling of exploratory and developmental oil and gas wells and related support, management and consulting services. Atwood, as has been the case for several years, is currently driven by seven offshore drilling units (all of which have been upgraded since 1996) located in three areas of the world. We have a shallow water submersible submersible, small, mobile undersea research vessel capable of functioning in the ocean depths. Development of a great variety of submersibles during the later 1950s and 1960s came about as a result of improved technology and in response to a demonstrated need for unit located in the United States Gulf of Mexico Noun 1. James explains, "We are the smallest offshore drilling company headquartered in the United States. Our much larger competitors, for example 'Diamond Offshore, ENSCO, GlobalSantaFe, Noble, Rowan, Transocean' have more rigs and greater financial resources than we have; however, we continue to compete well in the industry. We believe that satisfying our clients with safe, quality service, not just size, is the key to success." Looking forward, James states, "Exxon Mobil and Shell have been two of our biggest customers for many years. We also work for some of the large active independents. Being global, over the years we have worked very successfully for most of the major oil companies."
