Attention all aviation commands: new insignia instruction and submission guidelines. (Flightbag).


The instruction governing insignia approval, OPNAVINST OPNAVINST Office of the Chief of Naval Operations Instruction  5030.4F, has been updated and is posted on the CNO's Navy Directives website at http://neds.nebt.daps.mil/directives/table20.htm1.

Mail to the Washington, D.C., area is significantly delayed, and irradiation often results in damage to hard copies of photographs and floppy disks. Therefore, requests will be accepted via email at aviationhistory@nhc.navy.mil.

Electronic submissions must include:

* Cover letter requesting approval of the insignia, forwarded through the appropriate chain of command

* Electronic version of the insignia (jpeg or tiff format, 300 dpi)
