Attack on Brig could be result of target killing, says IG.

Islamabad, October 22, 2009 (Frontier Star): Inspector General of Islamabad Capital Territory Police Kaleem Imam has said that the brazen attack on army jeep in which Brig. Moin-u-Din and his driver lost their lives could be the incident of target killing. Two unidentified armed men riding a motorcycle opened fire on army jeep carrying Brig. Moin-u-Din, he said this while talking to media men during visit of site on Thursday. We have recorded statement of 6 eyewitnesses of the attack, he said, adding that, it seems that slain Brig were chased for last many days and the incident could the result of target killing. Answering to a question, he said, the search operation of Islamabad Police is underway for arrest of accused involved in murder of Brig. Moin-u-Din. Replying to another question, he said, search operation at large scale has been underway in different areas of Islamabad and record of illegal seminaries and mosques in Islamabad are being collected. We have also checked two seminaries and arrested suspicious person there during search operation, he said. According to media report 18 seminaries out of 140 are still unregistered in Islamabad.
