Attack On America Spurs Contributions to Dallas Veterans Day Parade.

The Greater Dallas Veterans Foundation reports an increase in individual and corporate financial support for the 2001 Dallas Veterans Day Parade. The increase in support can be directly attributed to the horrible events of September 11, 2001, which has rejuvenated re·ju·ve·nate

Set for the morning of November 10th, in downtown Dallas Downtown Dallas is the main business district in Dallas, Texas (USA), located in the geographic center of the city. The area officially termed "downtown" is bounded by the downtown freeway loop: bounded on the east by I-345 (although known and signed as the northern terminus of , the annual Veterans Day Parade will honor our military with an impressive massing of the colors and the traditional 11th hour ceremony signifying the end of World War I.

The parade will honor the 60th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor Pearl Harbor, land-locked harbor, on the southern coast of Oahu island, Hawaii, W of Honolulu; one of the largest and best natural harbors in the E Pacific Ocean. In the vicinity are many U.S. military installations, including the chief U.S.  with a surviving nurse as the parade Grand Marshall. The parade will also honor the 50th anniversary of the beginning of the Korean War Korean War, conflict between Communist and non-Communist forces in Korea from June 25, 1950, to July 27, 1953. At the end of World War II, Korea was divided at the 38th parallel into Soviet (North Korean) and U.S. (South Korean) zones of occupation.  and the appalling events of the attack on America, September 11, 2001. The parade will feature marching bands Noun 1. marching band - a band that marches (as in a parade) and plays music at the same time
band - instrumentalists not including string players
, military units, many veterans organizations, vintage and current military aircraft flyovers and colorful floats.

Businesses and citizens are urged to volunteer and assist this effort through sponsorships and contributions. Make checks payable to the Greater Dallas Veterans Foundation and mail to 2755 Bachman Drive, Dallas, TX 75220. For more information, call Parade Chairman Cloyde Pinson at 972/252-9778. Due to the recent attacks and the importance of the recognition of Pearl Harbor and the start of the Korean War, parade officials are making every effort to making the 2001 Dallas Veterans Day parade a memorable, patriotic event.
