Attachmate Strengthens Senior Management Team.

Appoints Experienced Veterans to Leadership Posts

SEATTLE -- Attachmate Corporation today announced three additions to the company's senior management team. With more than 15 years of experience in financial leadership, Charles Sansbury has joined Attachmate to serve as chief financial officer. Olivia Polius, a 10-year veteran of Attachmate, has been named senior vice president of finance. Wayne Crane, previously chief information officer for NetIQ, has been named chief information officer for Attachmate.

As CFO, Sansbury is charged with directing and overseeing all corporate and worldwide finance and operations at Attachmate. Sansbury joins Attachmate from Vignette (NASDAQ:VIGN), a leading provider of enterprise content management software, where he had served as CFO since 2001. Sansbury became CFO of Vignette after serving as the company's senior vice president of corporate development, with responsibility for mergers and acquisitions, and strategic financing initiatives. Prior to Vignette, he was a principal in the Technology Investment Banking Group at Morgan Stanley, specializing in the Internet infrastructure, software, professional services and semiconductor industries. Sansbury holds an MBA from The Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor's degree from Georgetown University.

Polius assumes the role of senior vice president of finance, where she will focus on the financial operations of the global organization, overseeing the creation of a single, worldwide finance organization. Previously, Polius held multiple senior-level roles at Attachmate and WRQ, including director of EMEA operations. In that role, Polius was responsible for organizing international business operations in support of achieving business results. Prior to her work at WRQ, which merged with Attachmate in 2005, Polius held management positions at BSQUARE and Arthur Andersen. Polius received a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Washington.

In addition to his role as chief information officer at NetIQ, which was acquired by Attachmate in June 2006, Crane's experience includes technology leadership of two Fortune 1000 companies. He also served as chief technology officer for two successful start-up companies and was president of his own successful technology start-up in the 1980's. Crane earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Texas and also holds both an MBA and a master's of computer science.
