Attachmate Hosts High-Tech Take Our Daughters To Work Day Event; Company Shows Girls How to Design, Build, and Market an E-business Web Site.

, Wash.-(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 19, 1999--Attachmate Corporation, one of Washington's best companies to work for and a leading employer on the eastside, today announced it will host 70 girls between the ages of 9-15 during its second annual high-tech Take Our Daughters To Work Day Thursday, April 22, 1999.

Research indicates adult encouragement can change the course of a girl's life. Attachmate's participation in this day empowers girls to envision the possibilities for their future in the high-tech world.

e-Business 101. The day's events will focus on e-business. The girls were first introduced to e-business by registering for the day by participating in the online registration process. On Thursday, the girls will work in teams to plan, design, and develop an e-business Web site as well as how to market the site. Additionally, the girls will have the opportunity to interview 12 female Attachmate(R) employees about their careers. All aspects of the day will expose them to product management, development, and marketing.
