Attachmate Expands Washington Presence to New Facility in Bellingham; Company Taps New Talent Pool.

BELLEVUE, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 8, 1999--

Attachmate Corporation today announced expansion of its development facility to a new Bellingham location occupying nearly 10,000 square feet in the Cordata office park.

The new office officially opened on November 1 and will be home to 19 engineers living in the area, with room to accommodate up to 45.

"It is increasingly difficult to find skilled developers. It is especially hard to recruit from within the Seattle/Bellevue area with all the software companies here," said Lisa Dembeck, vice president of development at Attachmate. "We are thrilled to have such high-caliber developers working for us, and we hope to attract even more from the Bellingham area now that we have a local office."

The company will host two open houses later this month. The first, on November 17, will be for employees only and the second, on November 22, will include local and state officials and will feature a short welcoming speech by Attachmate executives, a ribbon cutting, and champagne toast.

"We believe this new office will enable us to further tap the talent in Whatcom County and to work with the colleges and universities in the area."

With the steady growth Attachmate has experienced over the years, the company is also expanding its Bellevue headquarters with a new facility currently under construction. This new building will double Attachmate's square footage at its Factoria location.
