BELLEVUE, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 11, 1998--Attachmate, the leading provider of host access and management solutions, today announced availability of KEA!(R) X Suite 3.1 for Windows(R) 95 and Windows NT(R).

KEA! X Suite combines Attachmate's mature PC X Server with multi-host connectivity and NFS(tm) technology. IT organizations today find multiple, diverse hosts the rule rather than the exception. Consequently, they demand products with access to UNIX(R), Digital(tm), and IBM(R) hosts in order to maximize the effectiveness and longevity of these systems. Seamless access to disparate systems protects past and future investments in business-critical hardware and software while lowering the overall cost of ownership with advanced management features.

Full Open Systems Support. KEA! X Suite is a single-product solution incorporating leading Attachmate(R) connectivity technologies: X Window, VT, 3270, and NFS. The PC X Server, KEA! X, is a mature, high-end product integrating X Windows with Microsoft(R) Windows. Digital host access is provided by the widely used VT connectivity for which the KEA! family has long been known. IBM connectivity is provided by a version of Attachmate's industry-standard TN3270 product. The high-performance, 32-bit NFS client allows Windows desktops to share files and resources via the Windows File Manager or Windows Explorer with any other NFS server. Also included are standard TCP/IP applications, including a graphical FTP client and server. The resulting suite is a high-function solution for organizations that have implemented open systems.

X Suite unites host access and management functionality to provide users with enterprise information while leveraging existing resources, reducing administrative overhead, and improving manageability.
